Angels and demons

1.Looming ....Appeared threatening

He(Leonardo vetra) stared up in terror at the dark figure looming over him.

2.Broiling....extremely hot,scorching

There was the hiss of broiling flesh.

3.Closing in....move nearer to someone,  to surround them and stop them from escaping
                              (when it is used with night and day it means it is becoming darker)

Vetra fought to keep his senses, but the darkness was closing in.

4.Called down....to say in loud voice
                           
Young woman laughed and called down to him.
"Robert,hurry up! I knew I should have married a younger man!"

5.Keep up....maintain the same pace
                           
he struggled to keep up,but his legs felt like stone.


6.Wake up with a start....Basically it means to wake up and be startled
                           
 Robert langdon awoke with a start from his nightmare.

7.Squinted.....Look with one or both eyes partly closed  to see more clearly.
                           
Robert langdon wakes up and he squinted at his digital clock.It was 5.18 a.m

8.Emblazoned.....Conspicuously inscribed on something
                           
 The dream was emblazoned in his mind.

9.perpetual.....Never ending or changing.
